Nymphaea
From $1,500
MADE TO ORDER: 5-7 week lead time. This item ships from Canada; import duties and fees may apply. See Custom Duties & International Fees in our FAQ for details.
Nymphaea is a sculptural vessel handcrafted by Canadian artist Karen Quirion. Inspired by nature and brutalist architecture, this watertight vessel is both functional and sculptural. Nymphaea is made from an grogged stoneware and has been twice-fired. It has then been covered with a matte black glaze.Â
Karen is a self-taught ceramicist working essentially with clay. All of her pieces are hand-built through techniques of coiling, pinching and slab building. Exploring the boundaries of rigidity in their nature, her ceramics are the result in an experiment of deconstruction through organic forms.
